ISSUE 135 - September 2026

Your FREE monthly magazine of all things local on the Coast.

On a recent trip to Wellington, I was listening to the audio version of Miranda Hart’s book I haven’t been entirely honest with you. As I blatted down the Desert Road she chatted about the benefits of finding joy and being silly. I dutifully looked out the window and smiled when I saw a random pink flower growing on the side of the road. So if you see me out and about on the Coast ‘smelling the roses’ or prancing around like a mad woman, be kind – or better still, come and join in!

We’re in a charitable state of mind this month, dear readers, with our feature shining a light on the phenomenon that is op shopping and why you should get into it on the Coast, we have an update on Woven Earth’s new digs – their new ‘donation location’ if you will, and Harbour Hospice have a great Wills Month offer for you. Coastguard Hibiscus are also celebrating a ‘local hero’ finalist in their midst – will you vote to help make her the winner?

With the change of season upon us, we have advice on spring cleaning your skin care, getting your spring garden underway, and springing into action with fitness if you let yourself hibernate a little too much over the winter.

Feeling a bit peckish? We have all the info on how to sear a piece of tuna with respect, ideas on how to upscale your food scraps into edible fare, and a Baileys, white and dark chocolate mousse recipe from our resident local chef that will have you planning a special occasion just so you have a reason to indulge.

Please, pop your feet up and enjoy.

Kind regards
