ISSUE 132 - June 2026

Your FREE monthly magazine of all things local on the Coast.

Welcome to our June issue. We have much goodness to share with you in our pages this month, but first I must start with a bit of a tough goodbye – well, more of a see you later than a proper goodbye but it’s still a big one for our mag team, as it will be, I’m sure, for many of our readers. After being a columnist since our fourth issue way back in November 2014, Tim Lawrence has decided it’s time to sign off on his last monthly The Fishing Spot. Over the years Tim has given us so much of his knowledge, his humour and so many incredible fishing pics that would be the envy of any angler. The good news is that while Tim won’t be writing a monthly column any more, he’s likely to pop up as a guest writer now and then when he has an especially epic adventure to share. Tim, thank you. We appreciate the huge contribution you have made to our mag more than words can say.

We still have plenty to celebrate this month. Coastguard is celebrating a successful rescue, Creative Dance is celebrating thirty years in business and we are celebrating our columnist Trish Beauchamp, getting to know the lovely lady behind all the insightful articles.

With winter now upon us, we have advice for you on what to do with your winter garden and on what to do if you find your body stiffening up in the cold weather. We have an excellent idea for a winter weekend getaway next month where fancy warm coats are basically a requirement, and a couple of compelling novels for you to read if you’d rather hang out at home, a Coq Au Vin recipe that’s sure to warm you through and so, so much more. Please, pop you feet up and enjoy.

Kind regards

Claire Nevans & The Coasties Mag Team
